These are indications of genuine leather that come from the lifetime of the animal and should not be considered as a defect. Simply put, leather variations guarantee authenticity.

As every piece of leather is different , they may accept color dyes a little differently during the tanning process, this may cause irregularities in the consistency and depth of the color. This is a result of the hide’s cell structure. The center of a hide has been subjected to the most sun, wind and temperature changes which make it thicker and tougher – it will not absorb as much color. The outer perimeter comes typically tends to be thinner, softer and stretchier which allows it to absorb more color.
